WATCH out Kate, there’s a new model clothes line that’s being pegged for success.

Yasmin Le Bon’s range for Wallis went on sale this week and Deputy Fashion Ed Saskia popped down to the glitzy launch party last week to check it out.

The celeb fuelled affair included all of the Le Bon clan, including up-and-coming model Amber and her Duran Duran star dad, Simon.

Held at the super swanky Sanderson hotel in London, the drink of the day was a cool raspberry Bellini and the goodie bags contained slinky gold charm necklaces.

Our lust-have items from the collection include the red tea dress and navy blouse, which the British beauty teamed with leather trousers for her big night.

The 44-year-old is the latest supermodel to turn designer after being signed up by Sir Philip Green.

We reckon the chic but simple options will go down a storm with yummy mummies everywhere.

Me and Mrs Jones

If you spot a blonde coming at with you with a pair of scissors this weekend at Bestival, don’t panic, it’s just the super stylish Mrs Jones ready to whip you up a bespoke festie fabulous outfit.

The celebrity’s favourite fashionista (Kylie, the Killers, Kanye … the list goes on) has teamed up with Oxfam to head up their Be the Band recycled fashion scheme at festivals and online this summer, and this weekend we’ll be down at Bestival helping Mrs Jones (no relation!) and her team turn revellers in to their favourite band with just some second-hand clothes, a stud gun and a wild imagination.

We spoke to Mrs J’s team to find out what’s been happening on the festie circuit so far:

GLASTONBURY

“The lovely Jade Jagger bought a Polar Bear Fleece from the Glasto Oxfam DIY tent. Giles Deacon and Mrs. Jones had a Glastonbury moment with an unplanned and overdue reunion… 15years after deacon&doran parted ways they reunited on a hill side whilst dancing to mimes from the rabbit hole…
At the Be The Band tent all the Men took great pleasure in dressing up as Madness, Bruce Springsteen…and Lady Gaga!

“There was an Oxfam Stewards Fashion Show, judged backstage by Beardyman… Oxfam DIY-ers took centre stage in the Oxfam globe backstage singing, dancing and twirling and looking fabulous in their D.I.Y creations!”

LEEDS

“Mirrorball making – The Oxfam DIY team risked serious injury (and maybe even death) for the sake of a 20″ mirrorball and chandalier in freezing conditions on a borrowed, and somewhat rickety, ladder…
Be The Band Kylie moment at Leeds festival, where guys and gals got the chance to be Kylie for a picture or two… the men definately enjoyed it more than expected and actually looked a lot better than expected!

“Mrs Jones (The High Priestess of Funk!) DJ set at Leeds.. rocked the oxfam tent with tunes from Major Lazer, Tiga and Latrex…you could barely get her off the decks, she wanted more and so did the 3,000-strong crowd!
Workshop at Leeds…Oxfam sold some great pieces – bespoke one-off t-shirts were selling like hot-cakes at £15 (pimped up with fabric spray and cutting), and Oxfam even sold some pieces made by the Oxfam volunteers from the workshop!
“Festival-goers crazy requests ranged from “can you glue my hand to my head?” to “can you write I hate Jo Whiley on the back of the my shirt?”. Lots of requests for blanket ponchos, headbands, and loads of happy DIYers releasing a bit of creativity!!

Designer style, pretty prices

Pesky bank holidays.

It’s not like me to argue with an extra night out (and lie in), but the confusion caused by this week’s bank hol meant that we missed the opportunity to meet Matthew Williamson (gasp) … at Claridges (double gasp)! No, the designer du jour hasn’t suddenly decided to start advertising in The Sun, he was actually launching his new diffusion line at Debenhams.

The Butterfly by Matthew Williamson collection is a range of grown-up, girlie pieces covered with designer look embellishment. We might have missed the five star breakfast with Mr Williamson, but we had the collection whizzed over to Sun HQ to check it out asap, and we’re loving this studded cocktail dress (the perfect way to rock the new glam grunge trend), and now we’re more excited than ever about him showing at London Fashion Week at the end of this month (his first foray down the London catwalks in 7 years).

Boris is a cover star

What do Boris Johnson and Sienna Miller have in common (apart from an unruly blonde mop)? They’re both Elle cover stars! The London mayor has posed for the glossy in a copy of Sienna’s 2008 cover, as well as writing an editor’s letter as part of the London issue. It’s a shame the Elle team didn’t get to make over the infamous politician in an AW09 style (metallic brogues, a Dalston crop and ironic slogan tee, perhaps?) but it makes a change from the usual self involved starlets they feature.

Mossy and mankini’s

NEVER mind free love, the British summer festival is all about the freedom to wear whatever the hell you want, and apparently that’s morph suits, acid bright neon and mankinis! The Festival Annual snappers have been trawling gigs to take pics of the weird and wonderful things you’ve been up to and the best weekend wardrobes will be featured in the annual that comes out just as our crazy memories are fading. Neon ... bright young things

One fashion fabulous element that was missing at this year’s summer parties was uber glam groupie Kate Moss. Bless her, she’s been too busy actually working to dance around in fields. Her latest collection for Topshop hits the shelves today, and the rock chick isn’t losing her touch BUT we think there might have been a mix up with the price tags. £120 for a playsuit? £350 for a JUMPSUIT? From Topshop??? Yes, ok it’s leather, but still. We’re giving it till October before TS’s sale rack is heaving with Mossy inspired sequins and distressed jumpers.

As well as the latest Mossy launch, fash company Arcadia is also toasting the success of their first fashion bloggers event. Online style gurus like Susie Style Bubble and Mademoiselle Robot were invited to sup champers and rifle through the rails of Christmas ’09 stock from high street favourite Miss Selfridge, Wallis, Evans and Dorothy Perkins. And in true fashion blogger style there was a photo studio and dressing up room where peeps were able to upload pics of themselves in the new ranges direct to their blogs.

I felt like a bit of a pretender (after all, my job’s not all about the world wide web) BUT I have started tweeting this week (finally) … so maybe I did belong with the real fashion geeks after all.

Pricey ... AW09 Moss-haves

Rummaging around in the sequins and xmas party coats has given me tonnes of inspiration for our new season countdown starting Tuesday (one hot must-have every day for the whole of September) and almost as importantly, the bank holiday weekend, which promises to be a bevvy of parties and fashion flaunting opportunities. My most stylish Italian friend has just touched down and on the schedule is raving with Sasha and John Digweed at London’s SW4 festival, glamorous groupie outfits at Get Loaded after parties with Norman Jay, Soho drinks, Shoreditch pool parties and the Notting Hill Carnival.

Now where did I put that neon mankini??
